Hand-knitted • Soft & Cosy • A comforting companion

Meet our charming pair of Emotional Support Chickens —
a sweet handmade duo dressed in wedding-inspired outfits, perfect for gifting or decorating your home.

🧵 Handmade with love

Each chicken is knitted with soft, textured yarn, giving a natural,  and rustic look.

Their bodies are gently weighted and shaped to feel comforting in your hands or on your lap.

Hello, I’m Mrs Mair —
the maker, the collector, and the slightly wool-obsessed heart behind Rare & Mair.

I spend most of my days surrounded by soft yarns, needles, little tools, and baskets filled with colours.
I knit, I crochet, and I create things that bring comfort — especially my beloved Emotional Support Chickens.

🐔 Why chickens?

Because life can be overwhelming.
Some days we feel a little lost, a little tired, a little vulnerable.
So I wanted to design something small, gentle, and quietly encouraging —
a little friend you can hold in your hand, place on your desk, or give to someone who needs warmth.

Every chicken I make has its own personality, its own colour story,
and its own tiny mission:
to listen, to comfort, and to make your day just a little softer.

🧺 Where my inspiration comes from

I live between wool markets, Sunday vintage stalls, and the peaceful corners of Scotland.
I pick up rare textures, natural yarns, soft colours, and beautiful materials that feel honest and grounding.
Back home, by the window with a cup of tea, I turn them into comforting handmade pieces.

— Love,
Mrs Mair
